Do you know where to watch ICL cricket?

A quick post for all you cricket fans out there. If you are missing your cricket on TV and don’t want to get up early to watch Sky Sports’ coverage of India v Oz (or if you haven’t got Sky Sports). 3.oopm every day at the moment you can watch the ICL 20/20 on Zee Music (Sky 789), they are showing it live and there is no subscription to pay. There are some good players even if some of them are getting on a bit. You can watch it online at www.bollywood.tv as well.

The credit crunch sucks – so go to the seaside

I have spent the last week hearing about the credit crunch, luckily  I have not been affected by the drop in share values as I don’t have any. I also don’t care whether the Gov’t are going to guarantee £35 or £50k of savings if Natwest goes tits up for obvious reasons. I am a small business owner therefore the banks have never done me any favours. I am enjoying watching them squirm a bit along with ‘The City’, my solution is to go to the seaside for the weekend and walk by the sea with Ange, Vez and Elvis (also Vez’s friend Lauren).

Nothing like candy floss or a pot of cockles to make you forget the global financial crisis. We have all got our values the wrong way round nowadays, we care too much about property, wealth and everything that goes with it. I am a big fan of Bruce Parry and his BBC series Tribe, I think that I am going to go native and adopt an alternative lifestyle. I will develop this idea in future posts.

Who likes Chutney?

For Father’s Day, Ange and the kids brought me some tomato plants which I tended lovingly all summer. Due to crap weather I have been left with a stack of green tomatoes. So in true Hugh Fartly Whippingstool tradition I have decided to make a value added product, rather than let them go to waste. The end result will be Big Stu’s Green Tomato Chutney. If I remember my history correctly a maker of chutney was called a Chutney Ferret (in Olde English). Therefore I can proudly come out of the pantry as a proud and fully fledged Chutney Ferret.
